Within the framework of the European Cooperation Day, there were two Charitable activities #StandWithUkraine. Every action anticipated health screenings and measurements for the internally displaced people forced to leave their homes due to the war.
The screenings were made possible by the implementation of the cross-border project “Personalized prevention tools in obesity and diabetes”- a joint operating program Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020-Prepod-No 2 Soft/4.1/56 “, which for two years implemented the staff of the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology.
More than four dozen people were examined by researchers of the project for the risk of developing obesity and diabetes. The examination included the determination of body weight, waist, waist circumference, capillary blood glucose levels, levels of individual forms of lipids (total cholesterol, triglycerides, low and high density lipoproteins, atherogenic index), and heart diagnosis.
